Transcript

Panel 1: Andrew says, "Oh yes, it's hers -- Just not in any sort of LEGAL way." Veronika's date laughs: "Heh."

Panel 2: Veronika, lighting another cigarette, says, "You're such an asshole, Andrew."

Panel 3: Andrew says, "But I'm a lovable asshole." Veronika replies, "Ugh."

Panel 4: Andrew turns to Sara and says, "I'll be back in a minute."

Panel 5: A wider view of the bar with people speaking to one another. Sara's still at the table with Veronika and her date, awkwardly drinking her beer and not in a conversation.

Panel 6: Eventually Sara asks Veronika, "Uh -- do you think Andrew's coming back...?" Veronika replies, "Oh, he ALWAYS disappears. He'll be back eventually..."

Panel 7: Sara stands and starts to put her coat on as Veronika and her date continue on. She says, "Well, I have to work in the morning so I have to go..."

Panel 8: Veronika says, "Bye."

If you’re wondering: an indoor smoking ban went into effect in NYC in 2003. This is 2005. Veronika’s not the type to change her behavior or follow rules and will continue on as usual for as long as she can -- depending on the bar the ban could not have really been enforced at first, but two years in she’s definitely pushing it. We’ve seen Andrew outside with a friend who's smoking (081), which is what Veronika should be doing here.
