Panel 1: Sara, holding a book, says, "Well, for some reason, Ray didn't tell you this, and he doesn't want me to..." Bryce replies, "What is it?"

Panel 2: Sara continues, "Ray didn't run away. His family kicked him out, because your father told them --" Bryce jumps in: "--Told them he's gay. Of course."

Panel 3: Bryce, eyes closed, says, "My father is religious and the rest of his family were like off-the-deep-end religious. Having a gay son would be unthinkable. I should have put that together..."

Panel 4: He continues, "I can't imagine even TRYING to have that conversation with my father. Ugh."

Panel 5: Bryce, looking off to the side, says, "I mean, I'm --" and trails off. He starts up again, "I moved back here last year because he's sick. VERY sick -- terminally. Cancer. Neither Ray nor I would be talking to him if he wasn't sick, probably."
