Location: Sunset Park

Sunset Park is a neighborhood in western Brooklyn that’s south of Park Slope and north of Bay Ridge. The section Sara’s in is across the street from Green-Wood Cemetery and is sometimes called Greenwood Heights (though more in real estate listings than anywhere else). At the time the story takes place, Sunset Park’s a bit run down (though by 2016 — 10 years after this story takes place — the New York Times was mentioning it in a rundown of “next hot neighborhoods“). Like other outer-borough locations it’s hard to convince a taxi in Manhattan to drive to Sunset Park, and Sara and Andrew use tactics like not quite saying where they’re going until the ride’s well underway (Andrew calls the neighborhood Park Slope, then South Park Slope as it becomes clear the address isn’t actually near Park Slope).
